The characteristics that naturally define concrete Balux
The characteristics that naturally define Balux concrete

Concrete is an indomitable material that accumulates a multitude of imprints throughout the manufacturing process. Each release brings a result that is both unique and imperfect, forming a whole that perfectly reflects the natural beauty of concrete.

AIR BUBBLES

The process of making concrete products can leave room for trapped air which results in the formation of small holes in the surface. From project to project, these can vary in size and number. This characteristic in no way diminishes the quality of the concrete and adds texture and character to it.

EXPOSED AGGREGATES

Concrete products are made from a varied mixture of aggregates, sand and cement. Some projects that undergo more polishing than others may expose more aggregate. These will therefore be visible on the surface of the concrete, which will give more variations in texture and color.

PINHEAD

Just like bubbles caused by  air trapped in the mix, pinheads can be seen on the facade and on the surface of concrete products. These holes are just as sealed as the rest of the surface during the finishing process.

COLOR VARIATION

Concrete is made up of several raw materials which can, depending on the mixtures, lead to certain color variations. Concrete is not a material that is chosen for its homogeneous appearance or its uniform look, quite the contrary!

MICRO SURFACE CRACKS

Surface micro cracks may occur  during the process and do not affect the integrity of the product.  Hair-thin they are located only on the products and the risk of any infiltration is unlikely.

SURFACE MICRO CRACKS

Micro cracks are very common in the process and do not affect the structural or functional quality of the concrete. Thin as a hair, they are located only on the surface of the product and any risk of infiltration is unlikely.

NOTCHED CORNERS

Just like the contour marks impregnated during the production process, it can happen that the edges of the parts have slight imperfections. More rounded or irregular corners are part of the character of each piece and can vary from one project to another.

WORN DOWN

Just like the contour marks, during the production process, it may happen that the corners or ridges can have slight imperfections, irregularities or be rounded, this is part of the character of each unique piece.

CONTOUR MARKS
Most noticed at the contours of wash basins and sinks, a rough jagged line may be present. The realization of washbasins requires molds in two parts, which can leave traces at the junction of its two molds during the process. This line is uncontrollable, sometimes more striking than others and in no way diminishes the quality of the product.

It is important to remember that each product is unique and that some photographs represent an overview and not a close-up. Concrete, like any other stone, develops a natural patina over time and these various characteristics can increase with age.
